The gear module is one of the main components included in automatic gearboxes GS Telligent/PowerShift, manufactured by Daimler.

Its purpose is mainly to perform the connection of the gear shift according to the management of the control unit.

By means of two solenoid valves and a position sensor, this module can control the movement of an activation piston that has three operating functions: 

• First position, in charge of gears 1-2, 5-8 and 11-12.
• Intermediate position, in charge of the neutral position.
• Last position, in charge of gears 3-4, 9-10 and the reverse gear.

Reprogramming will be required for the installation of this electropneumatic component in the vehicle in order to adjust the new values of the position sensor.
