The performance of an electromagnetic clutch is controlled by the control coil, which is commanded by the vehicle control unit (ECU).

But…What happens if the cable of the control coil breaks?

Thanks to Cojali technology, our viscous clutches of electromagnetic activation have a fail-safe position that, in these cases, allows the clutch to be activated automatically after breakage.

This way, the clutch valve remains continually open, thus allowing all the viscous fluid of the clutch to move from the tank to the working chamber. Therefore, the clutch remains activated at all times and vehicle overheating is prevented.
