According to UNECE R13 regulation, the handbrake or parking brake must be performed mechanically, regardless of the service brake system.

Hydraulic calipers assembled in the rear axle of the vehicle include a special mechanism to perform this function, which comprises a lever and an eccentric that enable turning the force applied by the driver into a greater force, capable of immobilising the vehicle.

In order to ensure optimal performance, it is essential to control the tolerances and materials of the parts comprising this mechanism.
