Its function is essential for the operation of the pneumatic system of commercial vehicles, since it consists in supplying compressed air to the different circuits (brakes, suspension or gearbox), as well as to prioritise tank filling and protect the system from potential leaks.

A leak or break in any of the pipes might cause the braking system to be inoperative. For that reason, the circuit protection valve has a safety mechanism thanks to which it is possible to isolate the circuit affected by the leak or break from the rest of connections.

Besides, in case of detecting any problem in the service brake system, this valve activates the emergency brake automatically to ensure the driver safety.
