In new Euro 6 vehicles, the requirements regarding consumption and emissions have become increasingly strict. In relation to the cooling system, it is utterly important to reduce the time of clutch disengagement to deactivate the fan in those conditions in which it is not necessary to cool the engine.
The new fan clutches of electromagnetic activation, developed and manufactured in Cojali S. L., include in their design the OCS system (Optimized Cold Start). This system improves the behaviour of the clutch at the beginning of the engine start after some time of inactivity.
It is indispensable to reduce to the maximum the clutch disengagement time and deactivate the fan as soon as possible, since the more time the fan is activated the higher increase in fuel consumption and noise level, resulting into more time for the engine to reach an optimal operation temperature.
Thanks to this innovative system, in this type of clutches the disengagement time is reduced considerably compared to clutches that do not have this system included.
